Meet Your Instructor
Melissa Mitchell
Before I was an ISR instructor I had worked in childcare and went to school to get my bachelor's degree in Youth Development. Working with children in the classroom was my passion but after about 10 years I was looking for a change.
One day I came across a video an instructor had posted of an infant being able to roll back and float independently. I couldn't believe what I was seeing! I didn't know much about ISR at the time but I immediately went to their website to read all about it. I was amazed by what I saw. The skills these children were learning in such a short period of time were incredible.
I have always had such a huge love for swimming and I knew that this would be the perfect career for me.
The more I researched the program I realized that there weren't any ISR instructors within an hour of me. I knew I needed to bring this life-saving program to my community!
Becoming an ISR instructor has been so rewarding and I couldn't have asked for a more fulfilling career
